Encapsulation Is Not Normal Practice
ENCAPSULATION should not be used as a precaution or as an added benefit. Encapsulation is used to seal in molds that can not be abated without more costs than value or structural materials that can not be removed. This should ultimately be the decision of the owner and not the remediation company or insurance company. Leaving molds behind and encapsulated is not a normal practice.
If encapsulation is required for the reasons above, it should be thicker than a gel capsule. In this picture shown, encapsulation was not applied properly as well as it was not necessary or on the protocol. Unless prior consent was requested, this is an automatic failed clearance inspection and testing.
